HTPC build help

Well that's just it. You need to identify exactly what you intend to do with your HTPC. Some people expect hard-core gaming through their HTPC. Others just want to watch Youtube videos and check e-mail on their big screen TVs. Others still, like myself, use theirs strictly for DVDs/Blu-Ray movies and watching live HD Cable TV. That's three completely different builds for three completely different purposes.
Audio is also a completely different issue. For basic watching of TV, I just use and HDMI connection from my graphics card to my HDTV. For watching movies, however, I have my motherboard's optical out connected to my $300 HTIB input for 5.1 surround (DVI from the graphics card is connected to my 1080p projector).
So. Give us a clearer vision of what you have in mind and we can certainly come up with a solution for you. B)
