AMD FX 6300 at 55C during gaming

Hi all. So my comp idles at 40C when i do nothing but goes up to 55 C while gaming. Is this normal because i did some overclock and then put the settings back to default now its at from 40-55C. Is this a bad thing?

Thanks a lot guys. Sometimes my computer freezes though. I forgot to mention this. Ram is good but idk about cpu and no virus or anything since this pc is new and i don't torrent.

So it's normal for base clock speed at 3.5GHz? ok that's a relief aha thanks again guys.

What are the specs of your system? And if its consistent what are you doing when it does freeze?

You guys have awful idle temps (and likely lots of wasted power at idle). Must be lazy overclocks. You know overclocking works fine on FX chips with offset voltage (allows voltage drop for low power states), cool-n-quiet (lower power states), C1E and C6 (core power down) all enabled right?

My overclocked FX-6300 rig has basically the same idle power dissipation as it did stock. (usually run it 4.4-4.8ghz depending on my tolerance for noise)
