Hi I orderd a new system. Mainbord : Asus maximus vii formula i7 4790k but i am not sure which ram i buy; i want to buy this ram (G.SKILL Trident X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200) Desktop Memory Model F3-2400C10D-16GTX). But my friend said 4790k is not support 2400mhz rams so u can use ur ram (my ram is 1600mhz 8gb c9, but i am not sure which brand and which model) so what can i do ?. I going to buy new ram or use my old ram.

The 4790K can support and run 3200 DRAM, 2400 is on the easy side 
and the formula has no problems with 2400 either, or even much higher, clear through fully populated 32GB sets

Ram dont matter.Use your old ram and save some money...So that you can get another 8gb...Wastage of money for ram is a s**t....so better use your old ram
