Laggy system after windows update.

After a windows update for my computer, the entire system seems to be slow. I was wondering if there is any known issues with recent updates. You see my pc was originally a Windows Vista and was upgraded to Windows 7. It worked fine for long as I can remember but on about 8/20/14 or so, a windows update was available for my pc. Naturally I installed them. The next morning my entire system was so laggy and took ages to complete task such as loading. I am a League of Legends player and my ping is usually around 89 but after this update, it is all over the place. IT ranges from 120 to a staggering 10,000 ping! I don't know why it started to do this, the pc is not running anything else other than my Norton account and the game. But its not just while playing the game, even accessing the internet seams to be a hassle for it. I cant even watch videos on YouTube or listen to music on Pandora without it stopping and "load". I was wondering if there were any known issues with the recent updates to windows 7. I have never had this problem before. Any suggestions on how to find what is causing this? I can give more precise details if needed, just ask.
