I am looking for a cheap mobo/cpu combo to run internet, email, word documents, and itunes with ease. I am updating an existing build. Only parts needed are mobo/cpu and ram. Power supply is 500 watts and recently replaced. Hard drive and video card have also been recently replaced. I don't have a brand preference, I just want it to easily run listed applications and be as cheap as possible.

Solution
I would advise ditching the 9600GTX in favor of using a modern iGPU. The 9600GTX will be nothing but an out-dated redundancy with missing capabilities that will increase the power dissipation of the machine with no performance benefit (in fact, it will reduce performance and/or increase compute overhead requirements compared to a modern iGPU in some cases). Most of the CPUs that make sense for this type of build will have a great iGPU for these types of purposes built right in.

i3-41XX + Gigabyte B85-D3H + 2x4GB 1600MT/s ballistix, redline, blackline, vengeance (dual rank dual channel kit) ~$275.
A8-7600 + ASRock FM2A88M EXTREME4+ + 2x4GB 2133MT/s ballistix, redline, blackline, vengeance (dual rank dual channel kit) ~$275

Take your pick, either would be nice for this type of build.
