Gyms the motherboard has a PCI Express 2.0 x16 so your GPU supports a PCI Express 3.0 x16. So it will be fine but not only held back is that the performance will be reduced by about 5-8% as you will be installing the GPU on a PCI Express 2.0 x16.

The performance shouldn't be reduced at all, only high-end GPUs like the GTX 780Ti in SLI are held back by PCI-E 2.0.

Wouldn't it be held back when a PCI Express 3.0 GPU is connected to a PCI Express 2.0 port motherboatd. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Nope, it'll only be held back if the GPU can fully utilize PCI-E 2.0 x16, which the GTX 750Ti can't do.

Why did they put PCI-E 3.0 x16 on a GPU that can't fully PCI-E 2.0 x16? Don't know for sure, probably a marketing gimmick.

So it is probably a gimmick. So any GPU with a 3.0 will not have any performance reduce if connected with a 2.0 motherboard right?? Anyways thanks for the correction.

Happy to correct you
Yeah, there's pretty much no difference in performance with a single GPU. Maybe if you were to SLI something like the GTX 780Ti or R9 290X, it would make a difference.

I'm running a GTX 760 on PCI-E 2.0, and it performs exactly like it does in the benchmarks you can find on the internet.
