Looking for a good gpu upgrade

Okay, so I have a core 2 quad q8400 oc to 3.8ghz and was wondering what kind of gpu I should buy that wont be bottle necked by my cpu. Specs are as follow Core 2 quad q8400@3.8ghz. Evga 9800gt 512mb oc to 700mhz core clock and 1000mhz memory clock. Evga 790i FTW edition mobo. Antec earthwatts 500watt psu 500gb matorx 5200rpm hdd Seagate barracuda 300gb 7200rpm hdd. 3gb of Kingston ram. Corsair H50 water cooler Case, I have no clue lol it's an atx case that's all I know Windows 8.1 32bit. Thanks :)

I would go with a 600Series card by Nvidia and will consume less power. If you are not gaming, then a 640 but if you are then go with a 650.

get the r7 260x will be a best card to your system. and it is cheaper!

I would go for an amd card but I'm not sure if my motherboard supports it since it's a Nvidia based board.

AMD and Nvidia GPU will both work as you only need a PCI x16 port on your motherboard.

As I said before this is a Nvidia based board AKA the Nforce 700series that's why I'm unsure of buying an amd card, Plus all the games I play are optimized for Nvidia Gpu's so I'd stick with Nvidia for now.
