Cannot connect to internet via wireless / ethernet cable...unidentified network / no internet

Hello,

I recently moved and bought a netgear router. When I first got onto the internet on my PC I was directed to routerlogin.net and it told me to select recommended settings. Once I clicked through, the internet stopped working. I was able to reconnect to the internet on my PC by changing the IP address and DNS address; a self help you tube video said it would fix the problem. I tried going back to routerlogin.com and the page wont load. I am unable to connect to the internet via wireless or ethernet with my work laptop, xbox one and cell phone (wireless). My main concern is getting my work laptop connected to the internet.

Any help would be appreciated!

So you have a modem and a router or just a single adsl_router+modem?
.
Firstly reset your netgear device and in the LAN & WLAN adapter options and configure IPv4 settings to "automatically detect".
Then try connecting and reply.
