I'm building a gaming PC for my first time. So to give myself a little more budget room I decided not to buy a Windows OS and just install linux for a while.

My question is really.. Is there something specific I must do before installing linux? Such as preping some partitions in anyway? I would like to delete linux after I install windows. I'm aiming for windows 8.1
Thanks!!

The Linux install routine should take care of everything.

You should first install Windows, then Linux if you want worry-free dual-booting (check sticked posts in this forum). If you cannot buy Windows for now - download the Windows 7 you will buy someday (search around that forum for legitimate sources), install Windows without giving it a product key. During installation, do not give the whole disk to Windows. After that, install Linux with dual-boot. When you buy Windows later on, just enter the product key.

If you read the OP you will note that he doesn't require a dual boot installation.
