hi there. looking at building my first pc. have chosen the below parts based on a bit of research and just looking for a bit of advice / guidance to make sure it's all compatible and there isn't anything i should be doing differently! its looking at about €876 ($1156) inc. delivery to ireland.

Intel Core i5-4690K
Gigabyte GA-H97-HD3, Socket 1150
8GB Ballistix Sport Series DDR3-1600
Corsair Builder Series CX600 Bronze 600 Watt Non-Modular
Seagate Barracuda 2GB SATA HDD
Crucial M500 120GB SATA SSD
Cooler Master N300 ATX Midi Tower
MSI N770 2GD5/OC Twin Frozr Gaming Geforce GTX 770, 2GB GDDR5

how does that sound? it's going to be used for gaming and i ideally want it to last a good few years without needing much/any upgrading. i was advised to get the 4690K for overclocking potential, will anything there be a problem? will that PSU be enough? i also looked at Club 3D Radeon R9 280X 3GB DDR5 for the GPU but have been told the extra ram wouldn't be beneficial VS the better performance of the MSI N770 (although it's also €50 cheaper!)

as a first time builder, are there any other costs i'm missing that would need to be added? thanks a million for all advice!

If you plan to overclock your cpu i would buy z97 motherboard like asus z97-a or Gigabyte GA-Z97X Gaming 5 and a good cpu cooler like Noctua nh-d14 or nh-d15.. if it's too expensive for you, you can buy Hyper evo 212

And yeah Corsairs CX series are poorly made... go for XFX or Rosewill, evga not bad also

you can knock the graphics card down to a 280x or ditch the SSD if you need the extra for the delivery.

It looks like a good build but theres a few thing I would change/add.

-If you plan on O/Cing the CPU get a aftermarket cooler like the Hyper 212 Evo.
-Go with the R9 280X 3 gb, despite what some people say there are some games that will utilize 3+ gb @higher resolutions/settings (Modded Skyrim/Watchdogs) and im sure there will be more.
-Also I'd reccomend a better PSU. The EVGA 650 80+ Gold is a really good power supply that comes with a 10yr warranty with registration with evga (It's also Fully-Modular for better cable management/Case airflow).

You can wait on a cpu cooler but even if you dont O/C the temps will be much better. Intels stock cooler are junk.

this is very useful, thanks all!

on the GPU, what are the benefits of the MSI N770 Twin Frozr GTX 770, 2GB GDDR5 vs the Radeon R9 280X 3GB i mentioned? i've tried reading up on them, but they get very technical for someone who doesn't know the ins and outs of the performances.

would Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3, Sockel 1150, ATX be suitable?

There's neverending battle about those two graphic cards... I would go with GTX 770 ASUS or sapphire windforce model. Nvidia tends to be better quality and runs cooler than Radeon cards. R9 280x series had artifacting problems especially ASUS model of the card. Also nvidia have more stable drivers and is better on 1920x1080 resolution screens with 60MHz. So if you are playing on that resolution I would definitely go with GTX 770.

yes Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3 will be suitable for 1150 and ATX.
