Hello people,
I'm planning to buy the GTX 780TI (probably EVGA OC ACX), however I'm not sure if my current PSU can handle it.
My current build is:
PSU - Corsair 500W
CPU - i5-3570K (+ 3rd party cooler)
M/B - Z77 Pro3
GPU - HD 7870 (Club 3d Jokercard + 3rd party cooler)
RAM - G.Skill Ares Series 2x8 GB
HDD - 500 GB and 2 TB HDD (both 7200 rpm, if that matters)
PCI
- Two optical drives (nothing special)
- WLAN PCI card
I understood that (under load) the 7870 draws about 180W and the GTX 780 TI 260W.
Right now everything works fine (not entirely true but that has nothing to do with the PSU). Do you think I need more than my current 500W if I swap the HD7870 with the GTX780?
If so, does 700W suffice?
Thanks
