my barn is about 250- 350 feet away from my house which I have a router with ac1200 belkin router/w WiFi. I would like to install a couple wifi cameras however the metal on the barn seems to stop any chance of a signal even if I bring in a range extender into the barn it still doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions on how to provide wireless in my barn?. I have thought about running an Ethernet cable from the house to the barn and setting up another router but I don't know if that the best option it definitely is labor intensive. I did buy a stronger antenna but didn't help. I do have a logitech camera that I plug in that works...but to add more cameras at 350 each is pretty high. Would like some pan and tilting options.

Thx jen

Running a cable to the barn is the best solution. If that is not feasible you could put a device on the outside of the barn that would pick up the signal from your home and then you would connect back into the barn with a cable to a switch to it if your cameras are wired or connect an AP to it to rebroadcast the Wifi if your cameras need that. This assumes you are getting a decent signal outside the barn. You could mount something like this on the outside of the barn: http://www.amazon.com/Ubiquiti-LOCOM2-US-NanoStation-loco-M2/dp/B004EGI3CI
