How do you get to the repair screen? Control alt delete gets me to the task manager and sign out, but I cannot find a way to get to the repair screen. Help please!

Solution
This can be caused by two reasons.
1.Virus
2. Windows Update not configured properly.

1)So, the very first step is to boot the computer into the safe mode. For Windows 7 users try with F8 as soon as you boot the computer to get to safe mode. For windows 8 users, at the login page try holding the shift key and click on the power button and again hold the shift key to boot the computer to safe mode using advanced options. In the safe mode try to remove all the unwanted applications from your program list. Try restarting the computer and sign in to normal mode.

2) Try doing a system restore by getting into advanced options in Windows 8 and tap F8 in Windows 7 to get Safe mode option. If you are unable to get to this point, try doing a...
have you tried last good config from the boot options menu (f8/f12 at the slash screen)

typically it happens if your running windows that hasnt been validated... try safe mode with networking and if the screen shows up connect to microsoft and validate your windows key.
if windows is genuine then you will likely have to repair install... but before you try that. use the windows disk and open the cmd pr0mt from the repair menu and type sfc /scannow windows will check itself to see if its corrupted. 1s done reboot normaly to the hdd and see if the screen appears. if not repair install.

I hope this helps.
