I am wondering if there is any benefit of using a separate sound card using the optical out to go to my High end Sony ES receiver that does all the decoding( 5.1, DTS etc)? Any type of sound improvement that would be over my motherboard that uses a realteck chip using optical out it has on it already? Or is it just pass through? I watch mostly movies and slisten to some music but its all over the optical cable from computer to receiver. Thank you!
