Hello! I am a new gamer and I haven't been able to come to a idea of which gaming desktop to buy. My brother said I should build my own, because in the end you save some money! Anyways, this is my build, I would love someone to please critique it and tell me what I can improve as I spent many hours putting together all the research I've done! Thanks!

Is there a specific budgetlimit? If not
-get a GTX 780ti
-get a HDD, a WD or Seagate with about 2TB
-and get an optical drive
-and the best motherboard you can get is an ASUS Maximus VII Hero, but you should be fine with the MSI :)

A GTX 780ti is quite high for my budget! I figured the 770 would be good enough for me! The HDD is something I had a question on as well as the optical drive. I was going SSD because my brother told me it was faster than a HDD. I saw the hybrid HDD/SSD on some premade computers but I didn't know what that meant!

Basically SSD launches applications and games quicker but has less storage and is more expensive than HDD. You can install your OS(Windows), games you play with a lot and imporatnt progrmas on yout SSD and the rest on you HDD.

Couple questions

1. Do you need the i7? If the system will be used solely for gaming, you could save some money and drop down to the i5-4690K. If you have the budget, keep the i7 as newer games coming out may actually make use of it. Today's games don't really need an i7 though.
2. What resolution and how many monitors are you using? If it's one monitor at or below 1980x1080 then the card you have is perfect.
