Replacing m/b, do I need to use new thermal paste on reinstall of CPU?

I assembled a new system with a AMD A10-7850K but I think I got a bad m/b.
Of course, this means I have to pull my existing CPU from the m/b to send it back.
Which means I will have to pull the heatsink/fan off the CPU to get to the socket clamp lever.
It will be the same CPU and heatsink/fan, being reassembled onto a replacement M/B.
I just assume that the thermal paste will not be in good shape, since it's already been heated and cooled a few times (while I tried to install Windows, in vain).

Am I right? And is there such a thing as a thermal paste "stamp"? I nice, evenly spread square of paste, ready to transfer onto the CPU, kind of like a screen protector for a phone...? I'm hoping for something easier than what I have seen in the Good Old Days. Squeeze it from a pouch or tube and *try* to spread it nice and thin and even.... *sigh*

Thanks in advance!

you're going to want ot clean off the cooler and the cpu with high proof rubbing alcohol and a microfiber cloth... you don't really need to spread the paste yourself, putting the 'uncooked grain of rice' size blob in the center, the force of pushing the cooler down should do 99% of the work for you. Just make sure you clean the cpu off.
