I agree and I would also saying moving to 2 to 4 cores will place you more in a sweet spot gaming wise.

I3 cpus are actually good for gaming because they have Hyperthreading, which gives advantage if you only have 2 cores. Of course I5 will give some better performance now and much more in the long term.
If you can afford I5 without blinking, if not, then why dont you get an AMD FX 6300? I dont know how it compares to the i3, but i think its better (sorry if im saying something thats wrong)

Overclocked the FX6300 is certainly better overall than the i3 for games that prefer lots of threads. For single threaded performance the i3 is better. I'd only get the Pentium if it was a temporary thing whilst you save up for an i5. Given the choice you may as well just get the i3 if it will take you a long time to save for the i5.

The 6300 would get crushed by the 4690K but it's probably equal, if not only a bit superior to the 4150.

I was comparing the 6300 with the I3, so if OP cant afford the 4690K he can also think about getting the FX 6300

I bet that review was made by some intel fanboy. FX 8350 beats any i3 anytime in gaming, those benchamrks are so wrong... 6300 it will also perform better than i3 in some or even most of the games.

Ok then. Pick i3 over 8350 hahaha we will see in a couple of yesrs 2 cores with htt or 8 cores in gaming xD i3 wins? Guess not. And those reviews have wrong benchmsrks. Whatever lets stop this argument. OP, if you can afford i5 get it, if not get the i3 or fx6300. Its up to you :)

Yep
1. The i5 is the best choice if you can afford it
2. If you don't want to overclock the the i3
3. If you are happy overclocking get the fx6300 with a 970 chipset board and aftermarket cooler like the Coolermaster Hyper Evo 212
