Hi guys ,

I'd like to know if the new pc I am buying will be good enough to play the next gen games

CPU - i5 4670 3.4ghz
Motherboard : gigabyte B85md3h
RAM : Corsair vengeance 8gb ram
GPU : Sapphire r9 280x (maybe the ASUS one , not sure which one of them to get)
Smps : corsair cmpsu 700gs 700watt psu
Cooler master stryker cabinet.

Im on a slightly tight budget hence I want to get a HAF 912 combat cabinet instead. Would this suffice?

More about : good gen games

Yes it's fine but I would get an i5 4690k which is like 5 more dollars. I suggest you get a gtx 770 from EVGA. The 280x is fine but it might overheat A LOT.

Sappgire is fine, is it the tri x version? But yes, it'll be next gen ready and should last you on ultra for 1-2more years

This sounds very much like a Nvidia fanboy response to me. The aftermarket R9 280xs do not overheat at all. In fact you can overclock a significant amount while still maintaining safe temps.

As for OP your build is fine, though I would recommend getting an H97 motherboard as B85 is meant for casual use and not for gaming
