I'm going to download all my drivers except gpu onto a usb before building my pc and installing them that way. I have the asrock z97 extreme 4 and my os is 8.1 64 bit, when I chose these options for the drivers, the website cam up with a long list of downlaods, under drivers and also utilities? Do I need to download all of of these? Also could someone tell me all of the parts I need to download drivers for?

Did your motherboard not come with a disc? Install all the drivers from the disc first and then allow them to auto update.

On newegg they did it the usb way, but if it's simpler ill do it that way.if I use the disks, do I just run hem after I've said up the os, using the disks from like the gpu and mobo and i think that's all the drivers I need. With the auto update how does that work exactly, will it just ask to update when I install them?

Yeah that's why the discs are there - it may be a bit slower to install the drivers, but you won't take a risk messing up your operating system by downloading the wrong one. Most will ask you if you want automatic updates when you install them, check yes.
