Title pretty much says it all. I'm looking to build a gaming rig with a $1200 budget, I've attempted my own builds in the past but I always feel like I never get the most bang for my buck no matter how much research I do. I already have an OS and a suggestion for a good monitor ~22"-24" would be amazing as well.

Thank you to anyone who has the time to help me out!

Wait so this is $1000-$1200 for just the PC? Or for the monitor and PC?

oh sorry for the confusion, the monitor would be included in the budget. going over $1200 is 'okay' but i'd prefer to stay under

IPS monitor, but if it's a choice between an IPS monitor or a better rig and a TN then i'd go with the TN

The Toxic edition R9 280x is about equal to a GTX 780 and should max every game you throw at it with high amounts of AA. I also included an IPS monitor

Could swap out the monitor for a lower quality/priced one to add an SSD.
Personally i'd get a better monitor now and add an SSD sometime down the road.

Thank you! and it looks like the mobo + GPU will fit in just about any case

Yup, and if it doesn't fit well you could always remove a drive bay
