Hello
I own an ASUS G2PC laptop (Santa Rosa chipset, 2007). It originally has a 160 GB SATA hard disk.
The latest BIOS dates also from 2007 and it's already installed.

I'd like to upgrade the hard drive with a new 1 TB SATA II one. Maybe the disk will have to work as a SATA I drive, but what it worries me is teh disk size. I'm not sure whether this drive will work properly.

What do you think about it ?. ASUS has been unable to answer me.

Thanks

yes. I see some listed on amazon specifically for that laptop.

But really, laptop drives have not changed much in physical size so as long as you get the correct thickness 2.5" drive then it will fit. Laptop drives are usually 7mm or 9.5mm thick (yours is probably 9,5mm) and you can always put the thinner on in place of the thicker one... so just about any drive will work except the 2tb models (14mm thick)
