Hello, i am looking into installing a GPU into my PC but i have a few questions and i thought this was the right place to ask.

My PC only has a 230w PSU at the moment and i am looking to install a AMD HD7770 (or something around that price/performance range) I have looked into it and it seems i need a PSU around 450w.

I am very new to desktops and installing custom parts and i was wondering if there was any steps i need to take to avoid damaging my PC.

At the moment i am using a Intel G1610 with Intel HD Graphics :-( It would be nice to have a upgrade!

I would really appreciate if someone could help me!

Thanks,
Liam

PC components are pretty durable believe it or not. I wouldn't worry about hurting anything. As nervous as you are about doing it, it will probably be impossible for your to damage anything. For that graphics card anything about a 350W power supply should be sufficient but I would recommend the Corsair CS450M http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GH9NBP4 and you would have plenty of power for a future upgrade as well.

GPUs are very easy to mount. Well im not an expert at mounting, tho i already mounted over 5 pcs without problem and did a good cable management. Youtube videos helped a lot. Its kinda hard explaining by text you know? My only advice its be carefull and dont be rough with the connectors, they can only enter from one side so you shouldnt be forcing any of them. If you are afraid of doing it, dont you have a friend or a local store that could do it for you (the local store for a price i guess)
