HELP!Did i just fry my PSU?!

Ok so I just got my last part for my build (AMD Athlon x4 760k) then I install it.When I turned it on nothing turned on, no fans no nothing.Sometimes when I turn it on I could hear weird noises coming from the psu.Did I do something wrong?

Bad psu change it dont go cheap get corsair, xfx, antec, or seasonic.

I've plugged the PCIe 6+2 pin plug from the PSU into the ATX12V socket on the motherboard. This shorts out the 12V rail and forces the PSU into self-protect mode, possibly with unusual noises. Are you sure you have the correct connectors in the correct sockets?

It may be an issue with the wiring and connectors. Also the PSU may have been dead on arrival. If so, the company should either give you a new one or give you the money back. If so, I recommend getting a Corsair Builder Series 500W. Also there is the possibility you may have installed the Power Supply wrong.

I think so and it was my first build.I'm pretty sure it sounded like a hissing sound
