I absolutley hate this feature about my laptop, and I think Windows 8 is behind it. Anyways, when I am plugged in, my colour brightness is perfect on my laptop. But when I unplug my laptop, my colour brightness goes to hell. Mostly white though, when I go to facebook, the colour white makes reading everything unreadable due to the massive amount blare. I feel like I am staring at the sun. Please help! I have windows 8.1, and ASUS laptop.

Control pannel > Hardware & Sound > Power options > Change power Saving Settings > Enable "High Performance" > Change plan Settings > Advanced Power settings -
Explore around those settings to what fits you best. with it set on high performance it shouldn't dim.

Let me know if that fixes the problem

Since I work my computer alot, I have it always set to High Performance if its plugged in, or not. I tried playing around but I wasn't working.

Thank you for the website, I just tried what it had suggested and still has not fixed the issue, and some comments on that page as well claimed the same problems I am having.

Interesting.. I bid you good luck, I'm not sure what to recommend next since that fixed my issue when it happened to me..

Someone else maybe step in?

Edit: Maybe explore your BIOS and look for some kind of "power saving, Power management" etc
