Guys i was planning to buy a corsair air 240 and i heard a lot of fuzz about their gpu not fitting in. And i was wondering, will my Sapphire Dual X R9 280X fit in the Air 240?

Can you provide a link to the specific card you have, or provide some measurements?
Not all cards are the same size.

That case supposedly has 360mm of clearance for the gpu, the Sapphire card you linked is 262mm, so I'd hazard a guess that you'll have tons of room.

I was asking about the gpu height, not the length.

It can fit a GTX 780, which is ~111.15mm , so I don't think it'll be too tough -- at 112mm It's also 290mm clearance, not 360mm
I read that it can do 120mm wide graphics cards, so I feel certain that you should be fine. :)  (Here's a video for visiuals)

If you go to the Corsair website, you'll see a picture of an air 240 with 2x dual slot gpu installed.

Side note, I have no clue where 360mm came from lol, it really is 290mm

That'd be the width -- I believe we're looking at distance from board to side panel, which is definitely limited inside that case -- and other R9 290X's can get pretty tall, but width isn't an issue, as it can have up to 4 slots.

I don't think it will fit.

My ASUS R9 280 does not fit into my corsair air 240. The length of the card is not the problem; it is the width. The clamp will not come close to closing, and the windowed side door won't fit; it is obstructed by the heatsink of the r9 280. Judging by the width of the sapphire card, I doubt it would do much better.

The width of the card is 112mm, and the case can fit 120mm, so unless someone is misreporting measurements, it should fit fine. :)
