I am high rank silver in 1v1, but in 2v2 I am rank 48 silver cause I went 0/5 in my placements. I lost all 5 cause I played against plats, diamonds, and masters...I've only had a few games where I faced silver and I demolished them, but I absolutely get owned by diamonds. I mean I can take it as a complement, but I think the ranking system is just kinda broken.

Just wanting to know if others are having this problem or just most people don't play 2v2 in low ranks.

Anyone want to 2v2 add me on skype at supergod17. I'm looking for gold or silver I don't mind.

Well, blizzard has lowered the standards in their games since the relese of world of warcraft (any company can get lazy when they make so much money).
The fact that activision purchased it didnt help much as well.

I bought sc2 due to the fact that I love SC1, but after Wings of Liberty I decided that I would not buy the expansions (especially after blizzard made some statements about the expansions that turned out not to be true: HoTS and legacy were supposed to be priced as "expansions", they were not; blizzard stated that the expansions would not be required to play the multiplayer version of the expansions).

Another thing that is rather broken is the games units. Due to the improved AI in sc2, units that are specific counters to...
Its a very common problem.
I am low Masters in 2v2 and in 1v1 I get automaticly to play vs Masters opponenets (even thou I play like 10 games each season).
The main problem is that the game searches for opponents that have similar Hidden ELO ratings (those are actual points that describe your skill based on a quite complex algorithm). When the server cant find 3 opponenets with similar Elo rating qued for a game of 2v2 (rather often) it will attempt to match players who TOGHETER have a similar ELO rating. Because of this it is very common to get very strong opponenets and a weak ally if you are very high in ELO ratings, as well as getting higher divisions ooponenets if you are high ELO rating (even thou your win/loss ratio is not good, and you are demoted to a lower league).

As an example, I was qualified to Silver as well last league (after over a year of not playing the game) and Got to masters in under 10 games. In fact i jumped from gold to plat and from plat to diamond in 1 game each, taking me 4 games more to get to masters (however here I did win all games straight).
So, is the system broken? not really
Does the system work? Far from it, in fact its rather frustrating. That is one of the reasons I play this game very rarely.

I used to have a HIGH elo silver in 1v1 which is probably what does it, and I do know about the hidden ratings it is all the games pretty much. It doesn't put me off in 2v2 games as much, I had a bronze partner and I am silver and we faced two high plat diamond players. (2v2 Random). I don't mind playing higher skilled players in the game it just gets me ready for 1v1 but it does make me feel meh after the 10 game lose streak even against diamonds.

I dont want to go into much detail here as it might begin a rather useless discussion :D.
