I do not know if every Vendor for every module type went up though i would have expected to see the prices to back to roughly late 2012 prices. One example that i know for sure is G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) which was only $149 on newegg.ca, making it a cheaper 2x8GB Kit....food for thought

DDR3 DRAM production is down comparitively speaking as they gear up the DDR4 DRAM production, don't look for DDR3 to be dropping

When DDR3 came to be, DDR2 was getting cheaper. That is pretty much they way it went for memory types over the years, As a new Memory module type starts being sold the previous one is cheaper for a short time. Then in time DDR3 will cost more than DDR4...that is what i gathered looking at some prices as far back as early Pentium 4 days.

Don't think late 2012 is possible, that time was just beyond crazy.

Yes DDR2 prices were going down, but then too things had been rather smooth at that time, over the last year and a half or so there was a large Hynix factory wiped out by a fire, another large production facility flooded, and the need for memory chips has drastically increased w/ the call for phones, tablets, etc, so production is having a hard time keeping up w/ demand which always drives prices up.........and now throw in DDR4 ;)
