Hey everybody I am currently doing research on computer components so I can do my very first build. I would love to hear some feedback as well as suggestions to how I could possibly make my build better or if it is fine the way it is and I should start buying parts to construct my build.
First a little information about me to determine my type of PC
I am an 18 year old college freshmen so I would like to use my computer to do research online, create Word Documents, PowerPoint, send emails, as well as surf the web. I work in a video production company and I handle lower intermediate editing within Adobe Premier Pro CC some of my work include ( http://goo.gl/JQRMFk ) just to give you an idea of what level I can edit at. I am also an Independent film maker, so I will be using the rest of the Adobe Suit such as Photoshop, After Effects and Audition. The last thing I will be using my computer for is gaming I am planning to play higher end games such as Battlefield 4.
The Components
OS - Windows 7 Home Premium - $100.00
Processor - AMD FD8350FRHKBOX FX-8350 FX-Series 8-Core Black Edition - $175
Motherboard- GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard - $130
RAM- CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9R Speed 9 - $90
I am stuck on two video cards...
Graphics Card- ASUS ROG STRIKER-GTX760-P-4GD5 G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 760 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card - $320
Graphics Card- SAPPHIRE 100364L Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card - $190
Optical Drive- ASUS Black 12X BD-ROM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM SATA Internal Blu-ray Drive Model BC-12B1ST/BLK/B/AS - OEM - $50
I am also stuck on cases...
Case- Cooler Master HAF XM - High Air Flow Mid Tower Computer Case with USB 3.0 and Two External Drive Docks - $100
Case- Rosewill ARMOR-EVO Gaming E-ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, support up to E-ATX, come with Six Fans-2x Front Red LED 120mm Fan, 2x Top 120mm Fan, 1x Side 230mm Fan, 1x Rear 120mm Fan - $90
Case- RAIDMAX Cobra ATX-502WRR Black with Red front panel Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - $60
Keyboard- Corsair Vengeance K70 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Black - Cherry MX Red (CH-9000011-NA) - $110
Mouse- Tt eSPORTS THERON Infrared MO-TRN006DTM Black 8 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Wired Optical 4000 dpi Mouse - $60
I need suggestions on what sort of hard drive I should get, I am looking at 1TB, or 1.5TB even 2TB if I can see a cheap one that is good.
Next I need a suggestion for a power supply. All I am asking is for something "80 PLUS Certified" and I do NOT want a bunch of unused cables laying inside my case so the power supply where I can pick and choose which cables I use would be ideal
I also would need a suggestion for a good brand of monitor as well as LCD vs LED.
Anything that can also help my build get down in price would be greatly appreciated even if you could suggest me good websites for specific items
Thanks for helping me out with my build!

My suggestions:
For the CPU+mobo for for a Xeon 1231 V3+ a cheap H81 motherboard
$250 for the CPU and $50 for the motherboard comes to $300. You're getting the performane of an i7 without the integrated graphics for the price of the 8350, so why not.
For the graphics card look into a GTX 760 or 770. The ROG striker looks pretty and can overclock well, but price
erformance it's not very good.
For the case it really boils down to personal preference, but make sure you can find one with good cable management and decent airflow.
I don't know how much storage you need but a 1 TB HDD goes for $50 and a 2TB HDD goes for $75. Seagate Barracudas are usually good for the price.
From the description of your needs for the PSU you will need a fully modular unit. A good quality unit 550W and above will work.
I'll try and post the build in a moment.

Most monitors now are only LED. The brand isn't as important as the specs of it, so if you gave me a budget for the monitor I could post one.

using a xeon doesn't make any sense to me. he's a college student and not some professional movie maker with loads of money.fx8350 does good with these stuffs but i7s are a little better.
8350+ 990FX motherboard= $305
Xeon + B85 motherboard= $300
yeah brother i got that the first time i read get a xeon. xeons outperform every processor in terms of movie making coz they are built specifically for that. its recommended for professionals for the same reason. the thing for me is going for a flagship model which does everything he wants to from a respected manufacturer vs an entry level model from another respectable brand at almost the same price!!!
instead he could get an i7 4770 and an h87 motherboard. i am comfortable with that, coz it will do whatever he wants it to do.

i know that too...if someone buys an i7 dont u think that someone is gonna get a dedicated graphics for all the rendering!!!!!
frankly....i dont get the funda behind putting integrated graphics. it helps when you blow up your graphic card and its out for RMA but otherwise its useless.
but i actually have a question, rather a doubt about xeons.
why the xeons??? and how would you compare a particular model to say an i7 4770 or i74790 under the same price bracket(xeon e5 2407, e5 2609 and e5 2603)

Gaming wise it will perform almost identically. I can't find the exact page, but if you search my name+ Xeon 1230V3 benchmarks you might be able to find the page where I found some benchmarks comparing it to the i5 and i7.
