What exactly do you do? Intel also has good price: performance for under $1200.

This is a build that I currently have.

CPU: AMD FX-8350
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5
CPU Cooler: Corsair H80i
Case: DIY-PC Adventurer Green
GPU: HIS Digital HD 7850 Fan 2GB x2 (Crossfire)
PSU: Corsair GS700
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Blue 1600Mhz 4x4 (16GB)
SSD: Corsair Neutron GTX 120GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB x2 (Raid 1)(previously Raid 0)

It's a bit over $1,200.00. But, take off the 2nd GPU and one or two hard drives and get the FX-8320 instead, you might be below with current prices.

You could've gone with an 8320 and OC it.It's cheaper that way and it will perform nearly the same as the stock 8350.And for that SSD price, you can go with an 840 EVO 250GB.Same price.
Other than that, the build is good. ;)

Actually, if you OC'd an FX-8320 up to 4Ghz, it would perform exactly the same as the FX-8350. They are literally the exact same CPU, same cores, same FPUs, same cache, same everything, the FX-8350 is just overclocked from the factory.

Which is why the FX-8320 has a good price/performance ratio, and the FX-8350 has a poor price/performance ratio by comparison.

Yes. Or if you OC'd an FX-8320 high enough it'd match a 9590.
But since the FX-9xxx don't perform much better, that's less of a great thing for the FX-8320, and more of a terrible thing for the FX-9590 (aka, the overpriced $300 225w CPU that still doesn't match an i5 in games, that also melts on the stock cooler).

I don't really need a high capacity hard drive, everything I do is saved to a nas, I also don't like how low off wattage the power supply is, for 1200 I would expect to be able to fit in a higher watt one for upgrades later on. I also think the ssd is overpriced when the hyper X is about the same performance but a lot cheaper even their 240gig version is cheaper than that.
