Hi all,

I am an enthusiastic newbie who is about to do my first full build!
I did search the forum here and also other places but because my question is probably so dumb i couldn't find anyone else who asked it.

I'm currently reading through my motherboard's manual (the actual board arrives in a few days) and have a question about the BIOS POST Beeps. My MB = ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0

My question is, what is the beep sequence for a successful POST ?

Here is the list of BIOS POST beep descriptions that are shown in the manual itself:

It doesn't really say what a successful POST beep is.

Sorry for the dumb question but thought it best to ask anyway.

Solution
Generally, no beeps, or one beep, followed by "Windows is loading". :bounce:

cool thanks. so probably no beeps in my case if all is well, as one (short) beep = no keyboard detected (as per manual's table).

thank you again, will see how it goes when i eventually build it.

Cheers

My Sabertooth doesn't beep at all during post but other ASUS boards I've used and installed have beeped once prior to booting or loading BIOS. There have been no apparent issues in either case. As in the table above, a beep code can mean more than one thing and it kind of depends on what accompanies the beep, such as an error message or prompt.
