Basically as the title says, I have a very dumb question. Can an 8 pin (Type 3, I have no idea what that means) plug into a 6+2 PCI-E port on my modular power supply? I'm asking because I just installed my new PSU (CX750M) and am looking at buying a GTX 760 which requires a 6 and 8 pin cable to power. Conveniently, my power supply has a cable that has all of that on a single cable but the portion that goes into the PSU itself is the 8 pin Type 3 connector in question.

Thank you for the help!

Yes it will fit no issues. They're only different because their is a variation of cords you can use.
