how to transfer files from my desktop to my laptop without internet

I am trying to move picasa3 and Bejeweled 3 from my hp desktop to my gateway laptop. Without internet can you help me?

Router/switch? If not then you need to get a crossover cable.

As programs they might not copy over.

Simple! Get a lan cable, create a homegroup and link the 2 machines while connected with the homegroup and you should be able to transfer anything

Well do you mean without Internet as meaning no cloud storage like Dropbox, Google drive, Icloud or Onedrive. I use those for files sending for people not in the same building.

Also do you want to do this as a one time thing or periodically. The routers of today come USB ports and or ESATA ports (external USB drive or a Flash drive). If you want to be able to do this all the time then this might be a good idea. You have to allow both computer access to the storage device. Now also depending how much data just a plain flash drive will work. Prices are way down you can get a 64 GB flash drive for 25.00 at amazon.

USB, if you don't have Internet, there is always sneakernet.
