which slots on asus crosshair v formula-z do you install your sli cards

I have an asus motherboard (see title). I have read the manual and it doesn't specify which PCIe are the preferred ones for installing SLI cards. I have two coming and would like to know before installation.

To get dual x16, you'll want them in slots 1 and 3, provided you have an extended bridge to connect them. You can hook them up in slots 1 and 2 for x8. I doubt you'll notice the difference as you won't be saturating x8 anyway.
