I built the following computer about 1 week ago.

Case- cooler master HAF 920
Mobo- Asus m5a97 le 2.0
CPU- and fx 6300
CPU fan- stock
Psu- evga 600b 600w
Gpu- evga gtx 560
Ram- g skill sniper 1800mhz 4gb (x2
Optical- asus 24x DVD burner
Storage- western digital 250gb
OS- vista 64 bit

I initially bread boarded to ensure all my new parts ( mobo, ram, CPU, and psu) were all in working order. The optical drive, gpu, and storage all came from my old computer but I had never had a problem with any of them. I followed the assembly instructions to the t and had no issues during the build.

From the first time I turned it on though I was suspicious. I got the single short beep of successful post but nothing showed up on my monitor. The monitor was recieving in-put however since when I turned the computer on, it went from stand by ( orange) to on ( green). I followed the instructions for entering the bios and after hours of control-alt-delete, power cycles, and resetting the CMOS I got into the bios.

That brings me to now. After a week of the computer running fine and playing many games of league, I am right back where I started. I walked into my computer room to find my computer and shut down (I always leave I running). I hit the power button and was right back at square one but now cannot get back into bios or boot the OS. Is my mono or gpu bad? HELP??

Solution
Try your graphics card in another pc. Try another graphics card in your PC.

Try another monitor. What monitor do you have? Are you connecting DVI-I to DVI-VGA adapter to cable to monitor VGA port?

Try another monitor cable

Yes I've tried both outputs. The other doesn't give any output to the monitor.
Yes Ik I just got my windows 7 disk in the mail so once I get this fixed I can fix the vista problem too
