I tried updating my BIOS as my motherboard neeeded updating to use my CPU... Build: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/
How ever when i updated it, it said everything was complete and the system would reboot. When it rebooted, the Asus logo came up but was all distorted and green lines and stuff... Then after that the windows logo didn't come up and nothing happens after that... I can't even get back into the BIOS as it doesn't display anything. I updated it by going into BIOS> Advanced>Tool>Then updated it... I downloaded and installed M5A97 R2.0 BIOS 2501 HELP

Hi and welcome to Tom's forum.

As I see, your motherboard have a "1 x USB BIOS Flashback button(s)", look for that button and try to rollback to the previous BIOS.

Let me know the results.

Hi it turned out fine... I have no idea what caused it but after one or two restarts it was fine; I rolled back the BIOS anyway.

Now try to update the BIOS again but this time do it manually, put the latest BIOS version in a USB FAT32 format and boot, enter to BIOS and select "update BIOS manually"...follow the steps and enjoy.
