how to move steam games to new HDD

I am getting a new SSD soon and I wanted to know how to move games over to it from the HDD i'm using. I borrowed this HDD so have to give it back once finished with so can I move them over without any shortcut linkswhich I sa in another video.
Also redownloading is a last resort as my steam libary is 78 games minus a few f2p's and my download speeds get about 3 gb a night or about 8 hours. So an estimate means it would take a full year to download all my stuff again. thanks for the help

well, besides the steammover that you probably saw. another way is to backup the game, steam actually has that feature (just look among the menu), save it to the hdd. then restore it where you want to. you can try the copy-paste way, but it's more simple to use the backup feature. goodluck
