blank screen after signing in

Lenovo g410 model. On power-on, lenovo logo appears, then asks me to log in. After signing in, screen goes blank, only mouse cursor is seen. Tried alt-ctrl-del, gets me back to sign in, then blank screen again. Please help tbx a lot

is it when you try to log into the OS? if it is i would just reload Windows(run a restore or if you have the OS disk the reload it with that) , ive seen viruses that kick you off like that after logging into windows.
