will i be able to overclock my new i5 4690k on a H81M-P33 motherboard? i saw that some people say that you need to have a specific motherboard?

You'll need a motherboard with an Z or X series chipset (ie Z87, X79, etc.). You cannot overclock using a board with an H-series chipset (ie H81).
You'll also want to make sure the board has good heatsinks and is high quality overall or you might kill it by overclocking.
