Under the frontal panel of my case there are various extension slots that can be freed by removing the metal plates. Example image below (not my case, but similar).

Should I remove these plates for better airflow or keep them? Never intend to use them or the slots.

I would leave them in, the best thing for airflow is to have a stream of air coming in one end and going out the other end, if you open those it will just interfere with the airflow

Imagine you're driving a car with the windows up and the air cond. blowing directly on your face, if you roll your window down it would interfere with the airflow coming from the vents

Hello

There is more to airflow than just places where air can move through.

First, the goal is to move the hot air from the part generating lots of heat.
Second, the main source of airflow are the fans (ba damm ts).

What we have to do is direct the fans to move as much air around the hot spaces as possible, while taking in cool air and exhausting hot air.

My point is: it usually is a bad idea to disrupt the airflow in your pc case if you have one going on*, by opening up the case.

Kudos,
Albert

*if you don't, well read after it and arrange your case accordingly :)

Thanks guys. My airflow is pretty well organised, just wanted to know if it would be better or not without those plates.
