Hello friends
i am building a new pc for software and web development purpose. i am gonna use visual studio, eclipse, phpStorm, vmware etc kind of software. no games at all.
Budget: without monitor 750$ (45000Rs)
I am looking for following configuration
CPU: i7-4790 http://
MOBO: ASUS h97M-plus http://http://
RAM: 2X4gb ddr3 corsair vengence 1600mhz http://http://
PSU: corsair cs450m 450watts http://http://
CASE: cooler master N500 http://
SSD: corsair 60GB OR sandisk 64GB http:// Or http://
HDD: i have one WD 500GB
dvd rom: i have one portable LG

Location: Rajasthan (India)
So far the estimate is around 725$ (~44000Rs)

My Question is
1. Should i go for i5-4690 so that i can save some money or i7 is worth it.
2. since mobos are dual channel these days so 2X4GB or 1X8GB?? i think 2X4 will be fast. are they???
3. i am worried about PSU. is it sufficient for my build?? if u have other psu within budget? i want a modular or semi-modular psu :)
4. suggest me a good kb+mouse(wireless)(not a gaming) which is durable, smooth and comfortable.??
5. how do u see this configuration. am i missing something. ??? i am currently using a 5year old core2duo pc with 2gb ram.. :(

Thanks for any responce :)

I'm sorry I did not realize I was responding to a double post which already has a best soln selected in one. Pls ignore.

[strike]OK. Here you go:

1. If you plan to use VMWare, then i7 is a must
2. Actually, 2 sticks are better but 8 GB may be somewhat low; Please consider 2X8 GB 1600 MHz
3. You can always input your build details on any of the psu calculators such as the below:
http://support.asus.com/powersupply.aspx
http://www.coolermaster.outervision.com/index.jsp
http://www.corsair.com/en/psu-finder
4. For work such as yours, I do not recommend a wireless mouse, but logitech is not a bad choice
5. See, the key to a office desk is a) cpu, b) RAM, and c) storage; Here is what I would change in your build:
- Asus is costly, and so is H97; have you considered asrock/gigabyte;
- I do not know enough about VMWare, but your storage is likely to be inadequate;
- even though its a work pc, having a cheap set of speakers around 1,000 wont hurt
- some cheap furniture to support your back and a decent table go a long way
[/strike]

actually i got late response and wanted to close that thread. i am new on tomshardware. i think i should ask questions 1 by 1 :)
but i am still confused or should say back to the point where i started.
cpu :( xeon vs i7. i have read about xeon and think both are same cpu http://
with i7 100mhz faster for 30$ more than xeon.
so what should i do. should i go for xeon. if yes then will it costlier overall ? or the same configuration with xeon will do

most every decisions involving purchases involve budgeting and i suspect you dont have the funds to go that way; did you check the prices of motherboards, heat sinks, etc?

i think an i7 build itself is going to test your limits of allocation

Edit: i meant xeon procs and supporting boards (LGA 2011 i suppose)
