Hello,
I have a AMD Athlon X4 750K Trinity 32nm Technology 3.4 ghz and it begin to get very hot after I bought a new HDD 465GB TOSHIBA DT01ACA050 ATA Device (SATA) my old HDD was a IDE 80gb so.. no wonder why I changed it.I have an ASRock FM2A55M-DGS motherboard. Well my overheating cpu begin when I first played Assassin's Creed 3 and was overheating badly I mean 80°C sometimes so I had to stop playing so I changed from 3.4 ghz to 2.5 in bios and my problem look solved but now I was playing fifa 13 or any other game like AC3 and the cores were 2 cores were at 90% at the other 2 were are 40-50% and it started to go back to 65°C-70°C well when I don't play it stays at 52°C but also the game was very hard to play. Could it be from the fan? I specify that the PC is cleaned no dust on the fan or any other component also it has air because I opened it a half of it.do I need a new fan? Also I didn't open the heatsink because I have no idea how looks like it's stuck I don't wanna damage my cpu. I cleaned the fan and other components but problem still persist when gaming.. This means I can't play any games because of that. Thanks.

you may have knocked the cpu cooler when installing - the thermal paste gets dry when old and if you knock it it can stop doing its job well.

I would suggest upgrading it anyway to something like the Cooler master 212 Evo, the stock coolers are junk.

I didn't install the cpu cooler someone else did well I didn't change the thermal paste since I bought that means like 1 year and half ago.I had no trouble like playing fifa 13 before I installed the new hdd but now it's a pain the ass.

Stock coolers are junk. Most are a hunk of aluminum with no copper or heatpipes. This severely impacts their ability to dissipate heat.

While I am and AMD fan if you are using an AMD Stock Cooling Fan you may run into some issues. What I would recommend is looking into a CPU cooler on amazon. You could probably pick one up for like 20-30$. First remove the stock cooling, remove the thermal paste, and apply the new CPU Cooler.

im an amd fan too and i use a corsair h80i on my 8350 but i can assure you that stock coolers are not junk for stock speeds, i had the stock cooler on my old e8400 for about 10 months and it handled small overclocks (3.3-3.4) with no problem.
there's a reason they include them

The intel stock coolers arent too bad, the AMD ones are complete junk.

I assure you, they suck, and on the Fx 8 core chips they barely keep it from throttling speed, plus they make a LOT of noise.

My work pc is a FX 8350 in a case with good airflow, and even under medium loads it would make a lot of noise and struggle to keep temps down - the cheap CM hyper T4 that replaced it is practically silent and keeps temps under control (this is all at stock speeds).

Common misconception: stock coolers suck. Reality: no

Its not a misconception at all. The AMD stock coolers suck.

Then try doing some serious or even moderate overclocking with one. Go ahead overclock your cpu and fire up Prime95. See how far that hunk of aluminum with no copper or heatpipe and 80mm fan takes you..........

Its that stupid little fan they put on it, im sure of it! It sounds like you have a bee stuck in your case.

I said that they are ok for STOCK SPEEDS.

They suck, even at stock speeds. My work pc 8350 is at stock speed, and the stock cooler sucked, it was stupidly loud.

1: the AMD aluminium with no heatpipes: SUCKS doesnt serve for NOTHING maybe web browsing...
2: if you down clock your CPU of course there will be a down in performance (since theres no enough data for the GPU) if you want lower temps also put down the voltage!!!
3: your CPU gets more warm since there more data from HDD to share
where are you from?? A 465 SATA HDD its very odd

PS: i think of the thermal past which goes between the CPU and th heatsink but even if replace it, you should still have high temps
go at last for a hyper tx3

well i have had an athlon II X2 and a phenom II 555 X2 both with amd aluminium heatsink, while playing or rendering they reached the max safe temp 62º... but for an X4 CPU or above??? what the hell is AMD thinking???
i friend of mine buildes an a10 5700k based pc everythings fine but the temperature, the temps were so high with stock cooler that while gaming the games beggins to have A LOT OF LAG... so we just change the cooler for the one who had the phenom II X4 and problem solved

so dont take as prsonal XcalinX but AMD's luminium coolers are a crap for APUs and FX CPUs

well i cant fin the safe maximum operation temps... but i think your right , but as i said before the major problem here is that a certain temp the cpus beggins to produce some "fps drop issue" in games. If this is not the case, then the temps are still fine ..

just to add, in my experience with the A10 the stock cooler has no use for games

So you decided to start misinforming people?

In my experience with both:

Intel stock cooler: Not great, but fine for non oc'ed pcs.

AMD stock cooler: Terrible and loud, would never use again.

Why it's that so odd? Im from Romania/Europe.Im afraid to even try to get the heatsink off I don't wanna freakin damage it.

Well my amd stock cooler makes no sound at all after 1,5 years.

well the fm2 cooler looks different to the one on the FX cpus, so the fm2 one may be quieter.
