I recently ordered an MSI 990FXA-GD65 motherboard, and it came in today and when I looked at it, it has a 6 Pin and an 8 Pin power connector, thing is my PSU has a 6 pin and a 6 + 2 pin, and my GPU has a 6 pin on it, so I can only do one of the power connectors, do I need to buy a new PSU? If so, what's a good one that will work for under $80?

Solution
that 6pin on the mobo is optional..
that use for add electrical stability, for huge overclocking discrete graphics cards. in order to add more power to PCIE slot..

So, you not have to plug it, if you not running your graphic card in crazy overclock..

no..
standart pcie slot can supply 75 watt..
single 6 pin vga port can supply 150 watt..

so, total 225watt..more than enough for your graphic card..

you still not need it..
