MOBO bricked right when I received my I7 4790k.

I bought an MSI Z97-G43 motherboard, set it up and ran some test for my new cpu. I then downloaded MSI's live updater which gave me the latest bios. I loaded it onto a USB and during installation it reset my computer out of nowhere.

Now all I get is a black screen when I boot it up. I've detached the GPU and plugged the monitor via VGA and HDMI onto the motherboard with no luck. I removed the CMOS battery overnight with no luck. I tried the jumpers but unfortunately I don't have any jumper cabs.

Am I SOL? I don't understand why they'd recommend a bios update that messed everything up. To make matters worse, an MSI rep told another person on their message boards that they do not recommend using the live updater. That is ridiculous.

Then why would they recommend I do it?
Special? No. But I am a paying customer.

I'd agree with that mentality as well, but a company shouldn't offer something that doesn't work as intended. And I'm not the only one who has had this issue. This board has been out for a short time.

Well of course you're a paying customer, but I am saying that vendors try to make every customer of theirs feel special and you fell for it and listened to their every word encouraging you to shorten the lifespan of your product to keep you coming back, buying more; but then if every client is special then what's the point? Anyways I digress...

Well you can try to return it, most franchise vendors will probably fabricate some excuse to fix your mobo free of cost or get you a new one to a mutually agreeable outcome, but don't get your hopes up...
