Hi,
Building a gaming system in the next week or so with the following components:

ASRock Mod 1150 Z97 Extreme4 ATX Motherboard
Intel Core i5 i5-4690K CPU
Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 780
Corsair CP-9020054-UK RM Series RM650 80 Plus Gold 650W ATX/EPS Fully Modular Power Supply Unit
HyperX Beast Series 16 GB 2400 MHz DDR3 CL11 DIMM Desktop Memory Module (Kit of 2)
Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5 inch Basic SATA Solid State Drive
Corsair Hydro Series H100i All-In-One 240mm Digital High Performance Rad Liquid Cooler for CPU
Dell UltraSharp U2713HM 27 inch PremierColor IPS LED Monitor

This will run Windows 8.1, and will be used initally to play Wildstar, at 2560 x 1440 and ideally at fairly high settings. I have a couple of 1 TB drives lying around which I will add, and also have a couple of 21 inch displays I may connect 1 or both if I can. I will probably not be able to resist trying to overclock it.

It's been around 9 years since I last built a system so am really out of date with this stuff and would like comments / opinions on the components.

Also I still need to choose a case, ideally a shallow one that will fit on my desk and below my monitor shelf, a gap 17cms high. The only future upgrade that this system may get is a second graphics card to SLI with the 780.

Thanks in advance.

The ram is overkill, but if you can afford it, then why not? Otherwise I would just go with 2X4 gigs at 1866 mhz. As for the case, you should just put it on the floor. A shallow case like that (that I can't even find) will most likely not have good airflow.

Ok, I did find a few cases that are flat, but they usually require a specific build to be able to fit everything in. For example, your mobo will have a hard time fitting into those cases.
