i am installing a 6770m in a m15x alienware, but i can't seem to find any instructions on where to put the "cooling pad" or mats? it is a bit smaller than my card now (5730m) but it is an mxm, so it fits right it. its just shorter. any clues? thanks!

The GPU and VRAM (the large black squares) are the obvious ones you need to cover. The small black and grey squares the left edge of the card appear to be VRM's, so you will want to apply thermap pads on them as well.

Thats my best guess on where you need to apply thermal pads, though I'm no expert on laptop GPU's so I could be wrong.

i assumed you are correct. i was just thrown off buy its size difference, and things are placed differently. the pads know looking at my machine are on the "same looking" chips, so just the placement on the mxm board is different. i just wanted to make sure that was what i was looking at, haha. thanks much!
