Will this SSD fit in my laptop?

I'm going to buy an SSD for my laptop, but I'm not sure if it will fit in my laptop. I bought it last month and opted out of a factory SSD since it was much more expensive. I know this thing can fit an SSD, but how big?

What I want to buy: Samsung 840 EVO 250 GB 2.5"

Manufacturer says it has one 2280 M.2 slot for an SSD. Not really sure what that means, since it's somewhat vague and I don't know all the technical storage terms. Is this enough?

    Thank you for the answer.

So, I noticed that compared to an EVO or regular SSD, these are somewhat slower. At the speeds that SSDs go, is there really even a noticeable between these and a Samsung? Is there still a very noticeable jump compared to a regular HDD?
  4. Nobody? I've looked into the NGFF SSD/M.2 slot my computer supports and it seems pretty good, but can someone still answer me? Also, two conflicting answers apparently. One person says an SSD will fit any, the other says no, I believe the second answer here is correct but I need someone to verify.
  5. The second answer is correct. M.2 is a completely different form factor from the typical SATA III SSD.

You could buy one of the Plextor M.2 drives that he linked to but they are pretty pricey.
