Hi guys

I am running an Asus Sabertooth X79 mobo at the moment with a 3820 stuck to it under a Antecx Kuhler H20 620. Overclocked to 4.6ghz.

Currently the CPU seems to pretty much toy with my workload, but with my plans to go toward a newer GPU in the coming months and the appearance of the Ivybridge- E 4820K and 5820K beyond that, I'm thinking is it maybe worth changing it?

Will the X79 chipset support the 5820K?? Or should I be saving for the Sabertooth X99 in future?

Thanks

No the X79 won't support Haswell E (5820k). You'd need a X99 MoBo and DDR4 RAM.
No need to upgrade now, you CPU is well among the most powerful ones in the market. Wait a couple of year and allow X99 and DDR4 prices to set, then upgrade to Haswell E or something even newer :)

Thanks, I will stick to the 3820 for now, maybe wait a couple more years before moving to X99.

I post in bold because , I'm blind in my left eye and diabetes has taken some of the vision in my right eye because it wasn't diagnosed right away.
