Why won't my case fan work?

Hi,

I'm trying to connect my case fan into my power supply since my motherboard doesn't have enough connectors (it has 2, one for the CPU and one I'm using for the back fan of the case).

These are the components I'm using:
Power supply: Corsair CX500
Motherboard: Asus H81M-K
3 Pin cable splitter

EDIT: I forgot the most important! The case: Antec Three Hundred Illusion

I've plugged everything together but it doesn't seems to work.
So from my understanding, I need to plug the male splitter in the PSU and fan connector then next splitter's male end into previous splitter's female end and so forth for my 3 fans?

Thank you for your help

Solution

PSUs have standard 4 pin molex connectors
Many case fans have or come equipped with a 4 pin Molex connector or adapter cable (may have 2 wires in it) or an adapter

Unfortunately, neither options allows for fan speed control which is a huge drawback which the fan PCB or a fan splitter solves

I'm plugging the male splitter directly to the 4 pin female on my PSU. Do I need an adapatator, I thought 4 pin compatible for the 3 pin and the 4th pin was for speed control?
