Hey guys I'm new to this forum and incredibily nooby. So help a brother out :)
Basically I've had this external hard drive for a while now and looked after it. One day I decided to use it and I got pushed and it fell on the edge of the table. I knew it wouldn't survive. I connected it up and instead of getting that continuous sound of RPM, I'm just getting intervals. Doesn't load up in the PC. So I had this wise idea of installing into my PC, so I removed it from its casing and took off the PCB and then I went to sleep. My PCB was thrown away because my cousin thought it was trash and he was cleaning my room while I was asleep, woke up to the Vacuum cleaner. Really bad luck so far. Looking at the images I can't find a connector. I really need all this data for Med school! The question is how can I install this into my PC? is it not possible? Then how do I connect it back to my pc to recover my data?

Samsung ST1000LM025, HN-M101ABB (this is the model number and HDD P/N.)

Thanks guys!!!

Without the controller it's now a brick. Toss it. Your mistake was to remove the board in the first place. If there is data that needs to be recovered then take it to a recovery service, do NOT attempt to recover on your own, you'll only make things much, much worse.

Yay my first reply but also.... :( are you serious? there is absolutely nothing I can do?
I mean...... recovery services can cost £150 and......... a lot of money. How will they give me the data?

In which format will they give me the data seen as this is now a brick?

That's between you and the recovery service. They have the necessary tools and expertise to recover data. However, understand that recovery is not guaranteed (by anyone) for the money you spend.

thank you, it hurts pretty bad.
Does it matter how long I delay the recovery?
