Thinking of buying Blu-Ray drive

I was going to simply get a blu-ray player. So I can buy all my favorite movies and anime's, complete collection versions and stuff like that. However some of them are Region A, and won't play in a Region B Blu-Ray player (which is my region in UK).

I did check for multi-region or region free blu ray players but a lot of them are multi region for DVD only, and the ones I think that are region free blu-ray players cost a lot.

So I'm wondering if it's just easier buying a blu-ray drive and slotting it into place. Are they region free? And is there any requirements to play stuff? My pc specs should be in sig.

I have a blu ray player in my build. It started as no region. Cyberlink PowerDVD is what then gave it a region (which I chose) so region-free players exist. I'm using an LG BH16NS40.

And your able to change the region at any time right in that player settings?

In PowerDVD yes, but only 5 times (with the first time I set it being 1 time), but if you reinstall it resets the counter (I'm not sure what it will do now that I've registered the software)

Ah so it is easy then. If the limit goes I'm sure there's a thing you can download or just torrent another version etc. Thanks, I'll go this route it's so much simpler.
